I don't know about Frank Key but I've never seen a spoonbill nesting on Carl Ross Key.
The fishermen are going to raise hell about Frank Key Channel. The channel does go right by the birds so that makes sense. Carl Ross is so far away from Sandy Key I'm not sure a closure is necessary. Especially since any motorboats have to idle their way to the island.
I hope they are keeping a close eye on Porjoe too. That one used to get a lot of tourist traffic.
I hope the closures help the breeding situation. One would have to think that the loss of foliage has a significant impact on other breeding issues like exposure to the sun, etc.
