I appreciate the arguments pro and con about the killing of the pythons but they are all unrealistic-given the limited budget of the NPS do any of us really think they any of the proposed solutions will ever happen? Remember how long it took the Park to repair the damage fron Andrew and now we face the problems at Flamingo. The python problem is a crisis-this is not nature, it is a hell created by we humans- a voracious predator is multiplying without any viable checks (oh how we need some hard freezes). I appreciate the desire to not kill any creature but the pythtons will unnaturally destory many more native creatures than we could ever do against them. The everglades is already "unnatural enough" from decades of abuse and the invasion of alien species. How much more can the glades take?
