Hi, Paul.
Maybe the roads are crowded. But everything is relative. To a New Yorker, 'crowded' is when you have trouble avoiding physical contact with people on the sidewalks. By that standard, the Glades are always wide open!
We stayed home this Christmas; we'll be down before Easter, but camping with the entire family in the Keys. I'm gonna bring the grandkids up to the Glades, with a focus on Anhinga Trail.
I'm hoping to really get back into the Glades next Christmas, with some time in the chickees. I know it's taking a chance on next summer's hurricane season, but the timing was good this year for a family-in-the-Keys trip. We can find a beach here and there for the little ones to play in the sand and water, and maybe fool around with some snorkel gear.
When we come up to the Glades, I just hope there's as much activity as there was the last time. You could stand there on the bridge where that little creek runs out, and literally watch cormorants swimming underwater after fish. The kids would go nuts!
Cheers!
Jean
