Spent the weekend down in the Everglades last weekend. We camped at Long Pine Key and experienced an almost mosquito free trip. Can anyone tell me why the water level is still so high this year? Because of this there was less wildlife concentrated in the normal areas such as anhinga trail. We got to walk around salt water Eco Pond for the first time. Boy that is very different. Very sad seeing the hotel and cabins and gift shop/restraunt all closed down by the hurricanes of two years ago. The highlight was probably the very large crocodile that was cruising the marina and kept popping his head out of the water showing off his nice teeth. Should have a few pics up in a couple days.
